Growing in Holiness Using the Saint Joseph Preserve Logo
The Saint Joseph Preserve Logo Helps Everyone Grow in Holiness
What is Holiness? Holiness is the perfection of charity- a complete sharing in God’s divine life through love of God and neighbor.
Who is Holy? God alone is Holy. Human holiness comes from participating in His life through grace and in union with Christ (CCC 2012, 2014)
Why Should Each Person Strive to Grow in Holiness? Every person is called to the fullness of Christian life and perfect love, regardless of their state (Married, Holy Orders, Consecrated, or Single) or vocation. (CCC 2013)
The Saint Joseph Preserve Logo is a Model of How to Grow in Holiness.
The Blue and White - The interior cloudy area is our starting place for conversion where we seek God's truth and grow in our desire to know, love, and serve Him.
White (Inner Ring)- White is the color for purity and joy reminding us of the graces of faith, hope, and love gifted by the Heavenly Father to us at Baptism.
Blue- Blue is the color of peaceful waters reflecting a cloudless sky on a calm day. Reconciliation with God restores our souls to true peace.
Red- Red is the color of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and His blood shed for love of each person. The inexhaustible mystery of His Eucharistic love in the Mass becomes a source for deep prayer.
Yellow/Gold- The golden yellow glow from lit candles and precious gold vessels used at Mass remind us the presence of God while we pray. The color golden yellow is a reminder of the many ways to find God in prayer.
White (Outer Ring)- White is the color reminding us of our need reject the darkness of sin and grow in virtue to live our daily lives well. With God's help, we pray for His guidance in family life, work, friendships, hobbies, travel, communities, and recreation.
Green- Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the green, leafy branches. The fruit of God's love feeds healthy parish life as we learn to use our talents and charisms for the building up of the church.
Purple- Lent and Advent are the purple church seasons of fasting, almsgiving, repentance, and learning, that prepare us to answer Jesus's call to "Go make disciples of all nations." We are all called to bring the Gospel into the world with God's help.
